EEB: European Parliament and top Commissioners go “beyond growth”, 15-17 May 2023 The Beyond Growth 2023 Conference held in the European Parliament from 15 to 17 May is a multi-stakeholder event with 20 MEPs from 5 groups, the highest EC representatives, the best economic scientists and 50 NGO partners who all believe that a more systemic and transformative economic policymaking in the EU and the member states is both necessary and possible. Over the course of 3 days there will be 7 plenary and 20 focus panels on a wide variety of postgrowth or degrowth topics. The EEB is deeply involved in the organisation of high-level panels on circular economy, just transition and working time reduction, in line with our publications and political demands of the past years. ALDA: Local democracy will save democracy – ALDA General Assembly to be held in Brussels, 7‑9 June 2023 One of the most important events for our network, the ALDA General Assembly, will take place in Etterbeek, Brussels (BE), on 7-9 June 2023. More than just a general assembly, the 3-day event will be a real festival, where colleagues, members and partners of ALDA will come together for fruitful exchanges on key EU priorities, sharing knowledge and best practices on themes such as local democracy in the Balkans, migration, inclusion, gender equality, environmental protection, sustainable development and human rights, to name just a few, and to get to know each other, thus strengthening their sense of belonging to the network and encouraging them to take a more active role in the association. EASPD: Register now for EASPD’s international conference on Family-centred Early Childhood Intervention: How to make it work’, 8-9 June 2023 On 8th and 9th June 2023, the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) will host its Spring conference ‘Family-centred Early Childhood Intervention: How to make it work’ alongside Down Syndrome Albania (DSA) and UNICEF. The Conference will take place in Tirana, Albania. The event will address the key elements of family-centred Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) practices and the creation of national ECI systems. It will also share the result of the EASPD and UNICEF joint action on emergency early childhood development for those who have been impacted by the war. LLLP: Lifelong Learning Lab – National Training for Education Stakeholders, 26-27 June 2023 LLLP is delighted to invite you to the 2023 edition of the Lifelong Learning Lab – National Training for Education Stakeholders, a two-day training event that will take place at the University of Girona in Spain on 26-27 June. LLLP will take participants through a wide range of topics, ranging from EU cooperation in education and training, to EU decision-making processes, and from civil society engagement to national contexts. Volonteurope: Social Rights Tracker – a platform for monitoring and safeguarding social rights in Europe, 20 June 2023 Through its membership in the Council of Europe Conference of INGOs (in which many of the Liaison Group CSOs are also members), Volonteurope, together with partners in the Action for Social Rights Committee, has developed and launched the Social Rights Tracker. The tracker is a secure, online platform, available in English and French, for collecting and documenting testimonies of situations, submitted safely and securely by organisations and individuals, where social and economic rights or dignity of any person or group of people are violated. ACE publishes 8th edition of the Sector Study on the state of the architectural profession in Europe The Sector Study is a biennial survey commissioned by the Architects' Council of Europe (ACE) and co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union that collects and analyses statistical, sociological and economic data on European architects, the architectural market and architectural practices. Based on responses from 30 700 architects in 26 European countries, the 2022 edition of the study has been enriched with new research areas, making it, without doubt, the most comprehensive study on the architectural profession in Europe, and an essential reference tool for all those interested in the architectural profession and the built environment. IUT: EU green housing must be affordable and inclusive for all The revised Directive on the energy performance of buildings (EPBD) should ensure the cost neutrality of renovations and not penalise low and middle-income groups. The International Union of Tenants (IUT), together with Housing Europe, the European Federation of National Organisations Working with the Homeless (FEANTSA) and the Abbé Pierre Foundation, is calling for mandatory social safeguards in the revised EPBD. All 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have a gendered impact, and they can only be achieved through international cooperation between governments, private and public sectors and civil society organisations, all of which are needed to achieve a sustainable future.
