September 2024
Dear Circular Economy Community,
Welcome back from the summer break! We're happy to start with some good news for circularity: in her political guidelines for the next European Commission 2024–2029, presented on 18 July, Ursula von der Leyen proposed a Circular Economy Act to help shift to more sustainable production and consumption. Competitiveness is given top priority. She also pointed out that action is needed to address strategic vulnerabilities and proposed a new Clean Industrial Deal to create the right conditions for decarbonisation. Stay tuned to hear more soon!
The ECESP has been active over the summer, with a plethora of new items highlighting ways to bolster circularity. Here’s a sample of what we’ve added!
